The Professional photography program is a four- to seven-course certificate program geared to help amateur photographers develop professional skills in digital photography.

 

Skill development areas include:

  • Artistic sense and aesthetics
  • Composition
  • Light (natural and artificial)
  • Studio/portrait, landscape, commercial photography
  • Post-processing, using basic graphic design skills (in Adobe Photoshop or similar editing program)
  • Equipment mastery
  • The business of photography

The program offers a total of seven courses (four are necessary to secure the core certificate, seven to earn the advanced certificate).

  1. PHO 101 – Introduction to Digital Photography
  2. PHO 102 – Principles of Composition and Lighting
  3. PHO 103 – Photographic Post Processing
  4. PHO 104 – Studio Photography
  5. PHO 105 – Landscape Photography
  6. PHO 106 – Commercial Photography
  7. PHO 107 – Photography Sales and Marketing

 

 Target audience

 

This course targets amateur photographers, who want to develop rofessional-level photographic skills, and professionals, who want to update their skills (esp. if converting from analog cameras).

 

Prerequisites

 

A quality digital camera (preferably DSLR or equivalent quality-ylevel) with interchangeable lenses and/or a quality zoom lens.

 

Certificates

 

Students, who complete PHO 101, 102, 103, and one of 104-107 obtain a Program certificate in Professional Digital Photography.

Students, who complete all seven courses earn an Advanced Program Certificate in Professional Digital Photography. The sequence of completion is not important. All courses must be completed with Belair Online to earn either certificate.

 

Students, who complete at least four courses receive a 5% rebate on the total certificate cost when they successfully complete their final course.
